Adcock was a crucial part of the dominant Milwaukee Braves teams of the 1950s and early 1960s. Holding down the first base position for the Braves for a decade, Adcock helped record most of the outs in the infield with a near perfect fielding percentage at first base, which never dipped below the .989 mark on a season. Adcock was not only known for his excellent fielding ability, but also his great power hitting ability at the plate, where he recorded a .277 batting average with 336 home runs over his career. As a Brave he was a part of the 1957 Milwaukee Braves World Championship team, was once selected to the All-Star Game, and is one of only a few players to hit 4 home runs in a single game.

This is a 1957-60 Joe Adcock Louisville Slugger Professional Model Game Used Bat. This bat dates to the 1957-60 period based on the combination of the Louisville Slugger centerbrand period, 1950-60, and the time within that period in which Adcock ordered bats consistent with this bat. According to Louisville Slugger factory records, Adcock initially ordered U1 model bats in the 36" length on April 11, 1957 and made his final order during the 1950-60 centerbrand period on July 19, 1960.

This bat exhibits heavy use with ball marks present primarily along the top and back of the barrel. Along the front of the handle, is a 16" H-style handle crack, which runs into the centerbrand. Along the top of the barrel, near where the crack splits is a 3.5" section with wood missing and a 3" section along the bottom of the crack is also missing a small section of wood.

This bat grades out at the MEARS A6 grade with five points for the base grade, three points for heavy use, and a two point deduction for the 16" handle crack and small sections of wood missing along the handle crack.
