Brooklyn Dodgers fans had one mantra which they held onto for years - wait till next year. It wasn't that the Dodgers struggled in the 1950s, they were successful. But for some reason or other, Dem Bums could never quite get over the hump. This all changed in 1955 when the Dodgers won their only Fall Classic in the city of Brooklyn. The entire city rejoiced as the Dodgers finally went from the playhouse to penthouse.

This size "44" jacket was worn by Randy Jackson when he played for the Dodgers. It was donned in 1956 as the Dodgers tried in vain to defend their World Series championship. Because it was worn in '56 it may have been worn in the '56 World Series, during Don Larsen's perfect game. "Dodgers" is underscored in single-color white cursive tackle twill. Jackson's "2" is crafted on the left sleeve end. Dirt remnants/soiling are apparent on the white identifiers. Sewn in the collar is a Wilson manufacturer's tag and size flag tag. A leather fastener (with SCD Authentic hologram sticker) is situated above the tags. The labeling period on the Wilson tag is circa 1950-55 although teams did carry over items from year to year.

Jackson signed the front in blue felt tip. Leather reinforced pockets are apparent on the sides. Blue and white ribbed material surrounds the collar and both sleeve ends.
