Joe Garagiola played from 1946 thru 1954, mostly as a starting backstop for the Cardinals but in 1954, his last season in the big leagues, he played with the Chicago Cubs along with long time Brooklyn Dodger Eddie Miksis.
The offered bat is a game used Garagiola signature model Adirondack 73B but was returned to the Louisville factory in 1954 by team mate Eddie Miksis and was used as the model for his M173 (now vault marked) as found in the Louisville factory records as model sent in on 3-21-55.
Bat shows tremendous game use and perfect markings and was deaccessed at the Louisville Slugger auction having laid in their vaults since 1955 and has their sticker attached to the handle.
A rarely seen Joe Garagiola game used bat, this relic is a museum piece with history to spare with provenance directly back to Joe and Eddie. LOA Troy R. Kinunen / MEARS Auctions
