Nippy Jones, who's best known for being awarded first base for being hit in the foot by a pitch (and referring the umpire to a shoe polish mark on the ball) during the 1957 World Series, is pictured in this single-photo lot. The infielder's smart thinking inspired an extra inning rally in Game 4 of the World Series. Jones' Braves would go on to win both Game 4 and the World Series.

Jones is pictured in this lot as a Cardinal, where he spent most of his short career. He has signed the 8" x 10" in blue marker. MINT condition. JSA auction letter included. 00947
