By now, you're probably familiar with the tremendous cache of vintage baseball photos we offer each month, coming from the archives of The Sporting News. Well, this sizable group of over 550 photographs (closer to 600) does NOT come from The Sporting News archives, but still offer the same quality and appeal.
This mishmash of vintage baseball imagery includes shots of the following baseball figures, just to name a few: Sandy Koufax, Don Zimmer, Mickey Mantle, Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Joe Torre, Johnny Bench, Hank Greenberg, Nolan Ryan, Connie Mack, Stan Musial, Willie McCovey, Yogi Berra, Joe Morgan, Willie Stargel, Tommy Lasorda, Billy Martin, Don Drysdale, Gary Carter, Rollie Fingers, Luis Aparicio, Red Schoendienst, Howard Cosell, Bobby Valentine (playing in the minors), skipper Gene Mauch and Bo Jackson. Additional photos feature umpires, photos from Milwaukee County Stadium and various other baseball-oriented items.
Most photographs are 8" x 10" in size. Reverse notations include: Photographer stamps, affixed cutlines, and editorial markings/identification. B1221
