Nothing like a little squabbling between the Yankees and Dodgers before the 1949 Fall Classic. The offered Western Union telegram was sent from Yankees GM George Weiss to Walter O'Malley regarding Weiss' displeasure over where the Yankees' seats at Ebbets Field were on Oct. 5.
"Must be content with practically no desirable sets we are greatly disturbed at this treatment and would like to know if we can get better consideration regret necessity for bringing this to your attention" is spelled out by Weiss to O'Malley in hopes of scoring a better view.
For the record, the Yankees dispatched of the Dodgers 4 games to 1.
The clincher occurred at Ebbets Field as well. We wonder where the top Yankee brass saw the game from. There are compacting folds present.
Oh dem bums.
