Pictured in this lot of 3 photos is Pittsburgh Pirates Hall of Fame outfielder Lloyd "Little Poison" Waner. Also pictured with Waner in this lot are his brother Paul and fellow Pirates outfielder John Rizzo. Measurements range from 6.5" x 8.5" to 7" x 10". The original Boston Herald was founded in 1846 by a group of Boston printers jointly under the name of John A. French & Company. The paper was published as a single two-sided sheet, selling for one cent. This is an original photo, in many cases a Type 1 printed at the time of the event. File copies or type 2 photos are also found, and can be distinguished by the markings on the reverse.
