This is an incredible and very rare three player side written bat and almost never seen with this many players from a single team. It is side written " 35 oz. Tony Piet & Jimmy Dykes 8-5-35 Chicago Amer. Lea. ". The bat is a signature model Henry "Zeke" Bonura bat that was used by him and or Piet/Dykes. All three were key members of the 1935 Chicago team. It measures 34.5" and weighs 35.7 oz. There is about 11.5" of tar on handle. All factory stamps and side writing are bold. There is use with heavy ball marks on all sides of the barrel along with rack and cleat marks. The finish is a deep dark patina with hand turned lathe marks on both ends of the bat. There is a closed 7" handle crack which was the reason for its return. Factory records for Dykes lists this bat as "8-5-35 Tony Piet & Jimmy Dykes (Zeke Bonura 5-25-35) special grip new (spec tar handle). Bat grades a MEARS A9.5 having lost .5 for crack.
