Offered is a scarce Gehringer bat in that this one has the GF after his name instead of the usual numbers (model) found. It is 35”-36.3 oz and the style of bat is typical of Gehringer. It is stamped 35” on the knob, which is consistent with all of the actual game used documented Hanna bats.  H&B Gehringer bats are among the rarest of all pre Hall of Fame bats. We have no idea why the GF appears after his name as the only other similar example was an HT Crabtree bat, every other example in both catalogs and exemplars have a number (1-2) numbers represent the model followed by the last number which indicates length. If stamped on the knob (length), then there will be no length number on the barrel. GF has nothing to do with Gehringer and could indicate Game Finish but no way to determine 100%. He is not listed in the only known 1930 catalog as a list of known Hanna models. In either case, it is probably the only chance that one can hope for to add a pro model vintage (to his career)  to a collection. Final Grade: MEARS A4.5. LOA Troy R. Kinunen / MEARS Auctions
