Team signed baseballs can be traced back to the early 1910s. From the beginning stages of getting an entire team to pen their identity on a baseball is this attempt by the 1929 Philadelphia A's.

We proudly report the team did an outstanding job just like their field work. Connie Mack's squad won 104 games en route to a World Series triumph. This OAL (Barnard) baseball is filled with 16 signatures in black ink. The ball has turned a cream color from perfect aging. We can link the ball directly to 1929 because of the inclusion of George Burns, who returned to the team after a nine-year hiatus from Philadelphia. Those who signed include: Joe Boley, Mule Haas, Burns, Bing Miller, Howard Ehmke, Jimmie Foxx, Jack Quinn, Mickey Cochrane (stamped), George Earnshaw, Eddie Collins, Max Bishop, Al Simmons, Sammy Hale and three more. JSA has deemed the Cochrane to have been stamped.
