1928-47 Babe Ruth New York Yankees "Boston Herald Collection Archives" Original Photos (BH Hologram/MEARS LOA) - Lot of 3

This lot of 3 photos captures Babe Ruth engaged in various off the field pursuits from his prime playing days in 1928 through the years just before his death in 1948. Measurements range from 7" x 9" to 8" x 10". Photos contain various handwritten notations, affixed cutlines and date & photographer's stamps. Boston Herald Archives Holograms. (M0609)

The original Boston Herald was founded in 1846 by a group of Boston printers jointly under the name of John A. French & Company. The paper was published as a single two-sided sheet, selling for one cent. This is an original photo, in many cases a Type 1 printed at the time of the event. File copies or type 2 photos are also found, and can be distinguished by the markings on the reverse.
