Offered for auction in this lot is a Max Bishop professional model H & B Louisville Slugger from his 1924 rookie campaign. This Hillerich & Bradsby manufactured Louisville Slugger is a pre-model number bat with a signature barrel and the 1921-31 period center label.
This ash bat currently weighs 34 ounces and measures 34" in length with a round barrel & medium knob and matches known player factory records. It exhibits heavy use with stitch marks & surface murks and a handle crack at 6" which show no separation. The bat is also side written "Bishop 6-3-24."
Bat receives 5 points for matching player records, 3 points for use and 2 points for side writing resulting in a final grade of MEARS A10.
