Offered is a rookie season (1922) H&B with Haney in block letters on the barrel. It is 34” in length and weighs 36.8 oz. It was side written having been returned to the factory but that writing is no longer readable. Showing tremendous game use with swelling on all hitting surfaces (heaviest concentration above the barrel stamp), deep stamps and a perfect dark finish with ever so slight dead wood on back of the barrel (-.5). Haney’s first season as a player was in 1922, playing in Detroit with Ty Cobb where he played thru 1925. He then played for the Red Sox in 1926-27, Cubs 1927, Indianapolis 1928, 1929 Cardinals, 1929-32 Los Angeles of the PCL, 1933-34 for the Hollywood Stars (PCL), and finally with Toledo of the American Association from 1935-38. A big star in the Coast League where he batted .300 or better every season but one, he is probably most remembered for his managerial career (1939-50) with the Browns, Pirates, and finally, the Braves who won two championships with his leadership in 1957 and 1958. A one of a kind bat that grades an A7.5 overall.
