Offered is a signature model 35"-38.2 oz gamer that is a beauty. It remains uncracked with a beautiful finish and deep factory stamps showing heavy game use with swelling and use evident on all sides and not a single flaw to mention. Harris played with the champion 1925 Washington Senators and the 1927 Pirates as well as a stint with the Yankees (1914), Cleveland (1917 &19) Red Sox (1922-25) and the Brooklyn Robins (1928). In 1918, he was drafted into the United States Army. He served during World War I and was gassed. In 1919, he left the Army and returned to the Cleveland Indians for part of the season. At season's end, he played for an industrial team, which offered him money and a business. Harris played with the team for the 1920 season. Baseball commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis promptly banned him from baseball for life for having "played with and against ineligible players in independent games".
Harris later applied for reinstatement; Landis agreed to the reinstatement, in part due to Harris' war service. Harris was the first ballplayer to be reinstated after receiving lifetime banishment. A8 Collection of MEARS Staff
