Offered is a game used bat of Mickey Devine which dates from 1921-27. During that time Devine made two stops in the majors, once in 1920 with the Boston Red Sox, and again in 1925 with the New York Giants. During his brief stints he played off the bench primarily as a utility player before being sent back down to the minors each season when injuries cleared and he may not have been needed any longer. During his minor league career Devine made stops in the Eastern League and International League. This bat happens to be side written by a Johnny J. Jacobs who played in the International League with Devine just on a different team. Perhaps they were friends and Devine had let Jacobs borrow a bat or perhabs he simply left it behind in the clubhouse.
