Offered are a pair of player endorsed store model fielder's mitts which illustrate the evolution of glove design over a thirty year period of time. Leading off is a late 1920's/early 1930's era genuine horsehide Melvin Ott endorsed JC Higgins model 1684 with a greased pocket. Each of the fingers are a separate entity while a single leather strap connects the thumb to the forefinger. Rounding out the collection is a 1950's era Ransom Jackson endorsed Dubow model 731 with a deep well pocket. Differences in construction on the Jackson model include a three finger design with the pinky and ring fingers sharing a finger on the mitt, fingers which are tied together instead of independent and a full webbing in place of the single strap design found on the Ott mitt. Both gloves fit on the left hand for a right handed thrower. (71Y0182)
