Eddie Collins may be best remembered as a key cog in the Philadelphia Championship teams of Connie Mack during the second decade of the last century. Few remember he was one of the honest players on the 1919 White Sox team. This signature model hand turned Stahl & Dean bat dates to an era before H&B had a virtual grid lock on player model bats. Was it ever used by Collins ? One may ask but we don't have the answer. With no factory records, it will never be proven yet it is a hand turned bat of top quality and consistent with known Collins gamers and the knob was never finished having the rasp marks of where the wood knob was removed. Given the era in which it was issued, maybe. Regardless, it is an stunning bat and an incredibly early example and should make one heck of an stand out for your collection. And at nearly 40 oz, it is a genuine war club.
