Made in Fryburg, ME by Willard Mains who died in 1923 and came up with the Chicago White Stockings in 1888, with the Milwaukee Brewers in 1891 and the Boston Bean Eaters in 1896. He played for the Syracuse Stars from 1902-06. He was born and died in Bridgton ME.

Bat measures 35" and weighs 36.6 oz.

Bat shows game use concentrated on top of barrel.

Handle has a 4" closed crack.

There is side writing but it cannot be read.

We do not know when Mains starting making baseball bat but it is a safe guess that it was after his active playing days pre 1920. First example of this maker that we have seen. Collection of MEARS staff. MEARS auction LOA. 00100
