On March 4, 1881, James Garfield entered office as the 20th President of the United States. This item was part of an envelope encasing an invitation to Garfield's inauguration reception.

Featuring the regal raised seal of an eagle, banners and arrows, this envelope flap measures approximately 3.75" x 4.5" in size. Aside from a few minor blemishes and slight discoloration, this remains a well-kept relic commemorating the brief presidency of one of American history's most memorable figures. A1537
