The 1865 document offered in this served as a War Department Special Order direct from the desk of the Adjutant General. It is written to a private Dickinson, issuing him his discharge from the service of the United States. It has been signed by the Assistant Adjutant General. It features markings in both red and black pen. Apart from some horizontal fold lines and slight discoloration, this item has maintained quite well. This was hand copied by a secretary during the period. A1543
