Lot #52:

2007 Phil Niekro Game Worn Hall of Fame Old Timer's Game Signed Cap w/Brother's Number as Memorial - JSA

The brothers Niekro baffled hitters for decades with their mastering of the knuckleball. Phil Niekro donned this cap in the 2007 Hall of Fame Old Timer's Game. Worth special mention is "36" embroidered into the back of the cap. This was Joe's number for a few teams, and worn by Phil as a memorial to his fallen brother. "COOPERSTOWN, N.Y." is also stitched into the reverse. The size "7 1/4" cap shows great wear in the headband.

Niekro signed the bill in gold paint pen and inscribed "H.O.F. 97" as well. This was sourced directly from Niekro originally.
