Replacing Drew Bledsoe, Tom Brady took the reins of the Patriots and led them to the Super Bowl in his first full season as a starting quarterback. Brady was named the Super Bowl MVP and emerged as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.
This shirt is very significant as it was issued during that historic 2001 season which found Brady Patriots starting quarterback and the team Super Bowl Champs.
Shirt is manufactured by Adidas and tagged: size 46, 01 (2001). All lettering and numbering is consistent with what Brady would have worn on the field during the 2001 season. Jersey shows light wear. A review of the shirt verifies these sleeves are cuffed with elastic, whereas game photos the sleeves were open. Therefore, this shirt was not game worn in the regular season, but would have been available as a backup style or possibly worn during the pre-season. Very historic shirt from Brady’s first significant season.
