Offered for this lot is a very rare 9"x15" award which was presented to great Ted Williams. Measuring 9"x15", this faux bronze plaque was presented to Ted Williams. A copy of Williams receiving this very award is included. The plaque was awarded to Ted Williams on December 15, 1995 when the tunnel was named in his honor. The relief plaque reads,
"Ted Williams Tunnel, December 15, 1995, William F. Webb Govenor, Paul Cellucci Lieutenant Govenor. James J. Kerasiotes Secretary of Transportation" . NOTE: On September 2nd,
2017, I received a copy of this email which read, "The original small Ted Williams Tunnel plaque was made for Ted at the time of the dedication of the tunnel. Since that time, we have made about six copies that were given to charity fundraising or auctions and a couple of more for friends. The photographs you mentioned were included in the copies we donated to charities. We haven't authorized any others to make copies of this, so the one now for sale is more likely being resold by someone who purchased it at one of the fundraising auctions. - Skylight Studios.
