The helmet is a size 7 1/4 batting helmet with left ear flap for a right handed batter. Verlarde wore the number 18 for the New York Yankees from 1988-95. The helmet shows heavy use with scuffing on the crown as well as the sides and a moderate amount of pine tar around the brim and left side. On the inside of the helmet there is some soiling and some salt staining from sweat. The leather headband has also become loose due from the amount of use. The helmet has a hologram from Steiner Collectibles as well as an LOA with a matching hologram.
