Sterling Sharpe was a beast of a football player who had a Hall of Fame worthy career. The wideout could run through a defender but still had enough grace to outrun the competition.
In 1993, Sharpe distanced himself from his wide receiver contemporaries when he hauled in a then-record 112 passes.
When Sharpe was establishing the benchmarks for receptions for a season he did so in this size "42" home green jersey. Wonderful use is exhibited on the dazzlecloth/mesh combination with scuff marks on the shoulders and yellow and "dulled" purple hit marks on both sides. This may have been used in the Packers game against Minnesota (Dec. 19) because of the combination of those hit marks.
The numbers are heat pressed to the jersey. A Packers 75th Anniversary patch is sewn on the left breast.
"SHARPE" is placed to a tightly cropped nameplate on reverse, this type of style was implemented on Sharpe's gamers. The sleeve ends have a few hit marks and burns from NFL contact. Both sleeve ends are ribbed, as was apropos for Sharpe during this time period.
Sewn in the tail are the following tails: "93" (year), Starter/Packers exclusivity and size "42". There is a size "42" flag time in the collar as well. Starter logos adorn the sleeves as well.
This has been graded MEARS A8 - 5 base points and 3 for excellent use characteristics.
