Lot #1662:

1991 Don Zimmer Chicago Cubs Game Worn Signed Jersey - (MEARS A10 & JSA)

Don Zimmer was a baseball lifer. After his playing days were behind him, the lovable baseball mind became a coach and then skipper.

Zimmer donned this size "44" jersey during his final season as Cubs skipper in 1991. The pinstriped jersey shows light overall use. The number on back is created in single-color royal blue tackle twill while a Cubs team emblem is displayed over the left breast. Sewn in the collar is a Rawlings size label and "4 91 2 44" (number/year/set number/size) swatch.

The left sleeve has a Cubs team emblem. Zimmer tagged a signature on front. MEARS has graded the jersey a perfect A10 - 5 base points plus an additional 5 points provenance. This was sourced through the collection of a former MLB staffer.
