This offered Don Mattingly is quite historic and rare at the same time. First issued during the 1989 season, we have supplied several images to support the placement of the "NY" and sleeve to shoulder pinstripes alignment are quite consistent with available images. You will note that on the left sleeve the #1 appears, this was added during the 1990 season in honor of the death of Billy Martin. The shirt was carried over to be worn the following season.
Issued as the home pinstripe, this traditional Wilson shirt has a 7 (4) four-hole button front. "NY" appears on the front, with "23" on the reverse. Shirt compares quite favorably with respect to NY placement and sleeve / shoulder pin stripes. (Detailed photo graphic to follow). The Prestige Wilson tag appears on the tail and a size 42 flag tag is attached to the right side, both appropriate for Mattingly for the era. Billy Martin's #1 was added for the 190 season. Shirt grades a MEARS A9.5, with 1/2 point deducted for mild staining.
