An aging Mike Schmidt was about the only reason to come out to watch the 1988 Phillies as the team slumped to a sixth place finish.

This ONL (Giamatti) baseball is signed by 26 members of the team in ballpoint ink. Those who signed include: Von Hayes, Schmidt, Greg Harris, Bob Dernier, Tom Barrett, Bruce Ruffin, Keith Miller, Lee Elia, Milt Thompson, Phil Bradley, Mike Young, Greg Gross, Steve Bedrosian, Claude Osteen, Danny Clay, Shane Rawley, Kent Tekulve, Bill Almon, Todd Frohwirth and a few more.
