Offered is a professional model Kirk Gibson game used Worth "Tennessee Thumper" bat from his 1988 NL MVP campaign with the Los Angeles Dodgers, which ended with them upsetting the heavily favored Oakland A's in the World Series following Gibson's dramatic game winning pinch hit home run off of Dennis Eckersley in game one. Gibson's uniform number 23 is written on the knob in black marker along with factory stampings reading "KG", "4 1/2" & "WC137". Kirk has also signed and inscribed ("1988 MVP") the barrel beneath the block letter stamping of his name.
Bat currently measures 34.5", weighs 32 ounces and shows heavy use with ball marks, stitch marks, a light application of pine tar and slight deadwood on the reverse of the barrel. Handle remains uncracked. (60N0287)
