1988 Gary Carter New York Mets Game Worn Signed Cleats Signed "300 Home Run Shoes" - JSA

Gary Carter played inspired baseball. It was never a chore for Carter to settle in behind the plate as he played the game with a youthful enthusiasm.

When Carter cranked his 300th career home run, he did so in these Nike cleats. According to the stampings on the inside, the offered cleats were created in 1986 and subsequently carried over. The use is substantial with dirt remnants still visible on the underside. There are surface scratches to the leather exterior. "8" is written on the Nike Pro inserts and on the heel.

Carter offered his personal authentication with an autograph on both Nike swooshes and "300 home run" inscription. We have viewed photos on Getty Images and it appears Carter is wearing a similar style of shoe in '88.
