Gone but never forgotten is Walter Payton. It was Payton who led the Bears through the slim decade of the 1970s and early '80s. While not always blessed with much talent around him, Payton was the focal point of the opposition. Although he endured a tremendous amount of punishment, Payton only missed one game during his 13-year career. Payton died at the tender age of 45, which leaves his autograph at a heavy shortage among the masses of fans he accumulated. From a Bears reunion signing in the 1990s is this Payton signature.
Payton signed this 1986 Sports Illustrated newsstand magazine in brilliant black felt tip. The cover is pulling away from the staples slightly but the publication is complete.
