1981-84 Boston Red Sox Organizational Road Uniform (MEARS LOA)

Offered is a Boston Red Sox road uniform which saw organizational use between 1981 & 1984. Jersey features a Wilson size 42 tag sewn in the collar and an "81" box tag sewn to the tail with "Boston" sewn across the chest in navy tackle twill and number 52 sewn to the reverse in the same style. A team executed number change is present and with no player wearing number 52 for the Red Sox until Jody Reed 1987 we believe this jersey saw extended organizational use, likely in spring training. Pants feature a Wilson size 30 tag along with a strip tag reading "32 24" and an "84" box tag. Number 52 is also written in black marker at two different locations on the waistband. (62P0108)
