1981-83 Don McMahon/Mark Dempsey San Francisco/Phoenix Giants Game Worn Home Jersey (MEARS LOA)

Offered is a game worn San Francisco Giants home jersey dating to circa 1981-83. Wilson size 46 tag sewn in collar while a strip reading "47 81" is sewn to the tail. "Giants", number 57 and a "Dempsey" nameplate are also sewn to the white knit jersey. Tagging indicates jersey was originally issued in 1981 as #47 for coach Don McMahon. Number change to 57 and addition of the "Dempsey" nameplate indicate it was repurposed for use by hurler Mark Dempsey during his 1982 stint with the club, though available reference indicate he wore number 40 or 55, not 57. Dempsey also pitched for the Phoenix Giants in 1982 & 1983 so with the number not matching his major league issued number it is very likely this jersey saw minor league action as well.
