Russell, the regular supplier in the 1980s for the Falcons and Eagles, among others, tried to get the Bears' business, as well, as this salesman's sample of OL Jimbo Covert gives evidence to.  Russell even took several manufacturing benchmarks from then-current supplier Wilson in attempting to curry the Bears' favor, but, in the end, this salesman's sample remained just that, and Russell did not get a deal with the Bears. Still, this piece makes for a unique oddity for a Bears style collector. Estimate $250. Collection of MEARS staff.
