Offered is a New York Yankees game worn home jersey dating to the late 1970's. 1974-78 era Wilson size 44 tag sewn to outside tail while the supplemental strip tagging has been mostly removed from the neck with only the set number (1) remaining. No Yankees wore uniform number 38 in 1978 so jersey was likely originally issued to Carlos May, who wore number 38 in 1977. Presence of restored Thurman Munson armband indicates jersey was likely carried over for use through at least the 1979 season, when Jeery Narron donned uniform number 38 for the club. Heavy use shown with a cigarette burn present on right sleeve.

From the base grade of A10; 3 points are subtracted for multi-player use, 1 point is subtracted for the removed collar tag and 1 point is subtracted for the restored arm band resulting in a final grade of MEARS A5. (54H0210)
