1976 Rick Monday Chicago Cubs Organizational Road Jersey (MEARS LOA)

Offered is a Chicago Cubs road jersey which was originally issued to Rick Monday for his 1976 season with the team. Wilson size 44 tag sewn in collar with a strip reading "7 76 2 44" and a 76 year tag on the tail while "Chicago", number 53 and a team logo patch are also sewn to the powder blue knit pullover. Outline of Monday's original uniform number 7 and a removed right sleeve patch also visible. Heavy wear with extended organizational use following Monday's 1976 season with the team. Monday famously rescued an American Flag from being burned at Dodgers Stadium during the 1976 season, leaving open the possibility this jersey was worn during his heroic act, though MEARS cannot conclusively make that attribution.
