Offered is a 1976 Joe Ferguson Louisville Slugger Professional Model Bicentennial Game Used Bat. This bat dates to the 1976 season based on the Louisville Slugger centerbrand, which includes a Bicentennial stamp just to the right of the centerbrand. This M110 model bat currently weighs 33.9 ounces and measures 35 inches in length.
This bat displays moderate use with ball marks present on each side of the barrel. A few bat rack marks appear along the handle and barrel without color. Ferguson's jersey number, 13, appears in yellow paint pen on both the knob and barrel end of the bat. Ferguson has autographed this bat in gold marker just beneath the barrel signature.
Ferguson enjoyed a long 14 year career in which he played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, St. Louis Cardinals, Houston Astros, and California Angels. He played the majority of his career behind the plate, but also made appearances in the outfield on occasion. Ferguson recorded 719 hits during his career with a .240 career batting average, and was a vital part of the 1974 and 1978 Los Angeles Dodgers National League Champion teams.
This bat grades out at the MEARS A8 grade with five points for the base grade, two points for moderate use, one point for the documented uniform number on the knob and barrel end, and no point deductions.
