1973 Hank Aaron Atlanta Braves "Boston Herald Collection Archives" Original 8 3/4" x 7 1/4" Photo Homer #713 (BH Hologram/MEARS LOA)

Hank Aaron is crossing home plate after clubbing his 713th home run on this original 8 3/4" x 7 1/4" photo. The following are notated on reverse: production notes, writing, "Oct 2 1973" date stamp and Boston Herald Archives hologram.

The original Boston Herald was founded in 1846 by a group of Boston printers jointly under the name of John A. French & Company. The paper was published as a single two-sided sheet, selling for one cent. This is an original photo, in many cases a Type 1 printed at the time of the event. File copies or type 2 photos are also found, and can be distinguished by the markings on the reverse.
