Lot #183:

1973-75 Phil Garner Oakland Athletics H&B Louisville Slugger Professional Model Game Used Bat (MEARS A9)

Prior to skippering the Milwaukee Brewers and Houston Astros, Phil Garner managed a 16-year big league career as a light-hitting infielder for the A's, Astros, Pirates, Dodgers and Giants. During his early seasons, spent with the A's, Garner used this Hillerich & Bradsby bat.

The 34-ounce, 35 1/2-inch ash bat matches Old Scrap Iron's known player specifications. It exhibits signs of heavy game use, medium ball marks, deeply embedded stitch marks, bat rack marks, cleat marks and handle preparation (criss-cross tape).

Grade (MEARS A9): 5 points for matching player/factory records, 3 points for heavy use, 1 point for player traits (handle preparation),
