Offered is a New York Mets road jersey dating to Ray Sadecki's 1972 season with the team which marked their first season wearing knit jerseys after wearing flannel jerseys up through 1971. Wilson size 46 tag sewn to tail with a "33 46 72" strip tag sewn in the collar & "Sadecki" handwritten inside the tail while "Mets", number 33 and team logo patch are also sewn to the grey knit jersey. The Mets featured "New York" applique in 1972 & 1973 before switching to the "Mets" script present on this jersey in 1974 indicating that the jersey likely saw multi season or extended organizational use. The outline of the original "New York" applique is visible with a few small fabric holes and faintly visible orange discoloration around the outline of the original lettering. Heavy wear shown.
