Though undoubtedly best known for a single mistake on defense in the World Series, Bill Buckner enjoyed an impressive career, especially on the offensive end. The career .289 hitter topped the 1,200 RBI total and clubbed just under 500 doubles. At some point between 1971 and 1979, during his time (either with the) Chicago Cubs or the L.A. Dodgers, Buckner toted this 32-ounce, 34 1/2-inch Adirondack bat to the plate.
Buckner's first and last names appear on the barrel of the ash bat's barrel. The model number 194B is appears on the knob. Though it matches Buckner's known factory records, the bat shows no signs of use. His (then) number 22 has been written both on the knob and the end of the bat's barrel.
Grade (MEARS A5): 5 points for matching known player factory records.
