If there was one man who Ty Cobb would have approved of breaking his hits mark, it would probably have been Pete Rose.

The two were cut from the same cloth as both played with a reckless abandon and looked at each game as if it was their last.

The hit king wore this size "7 1/4" cap when he called Cincinnati home in the late '70s. A period "14" is written on the underside of the cap. Two tags appear on the headband: "New Era" and size "7 1/4".

Decent sweat staining/dirt is apparent on the headband. There is staining on the Reds team insignia on front.

This was originally obtained at the 580 Gift Shop between 1977-78 and is being offered for the first time. Signed LOA from consignor stating it was purchased at the 500 gift shop.
