1970's Wille Mays San Francisco Giants New York Mets MacGregor VIP Limited Golf Club Driver w/ W.H.M. (Willie Howard Mays) Monogram

This hall of famer is known for this basket catches, 660 HR's, and Cooperstown numbers. In addition, he is an avid and accomplished golfer. To our knowledge, this is the first Willie Mays golf item to enter the hobby. Although undated, the club is thought to have used by Mays while still a player with the Giants and Mets. Offered is a MacGregror VIP Limited driver golf club likely dating to circa the 1970's. Green griprite/swingrite grip with some cracking applied to handle along with a decal reading "MacGregor Tourney Taper Stiff 1". Head of club also features a "W.H.M." monogram. Mays was a long time endorsee of MacGregor products, and this club was custom made to his specifications. Gifted to a New York Mets teammate. (69W0197)
