Lot #55:

1970's-80's Mickey Mantle New York Yankees Signed Game Worn Cap (MEARS LOA/JSA)

Offered is a New York Yankees cap which has been signed on the underside of the brim by Hall of Fame slugger Mickey Mantle. Interior of cap features a New Era Pro Model tag and a size 7 3/8 tag sewn to the sweatband. While the hat shows definite use the style of tagging dates it to the late 1970's to early 1980's, long after Mantle had retired, so if it was donned by Mantle at any point and time it likely would have been for an Old Timer's Game. Hat originated from a PBS Channel 17 WNED TV auction in the mid-1980's. (76D0267)
