The November 22, 1965 Muhammad Ali/Floyd Patterson fight was one shrouded in controversy, race-based allegations and fundamental religious differences. Ali called Patterson an "Uncle Tom" for Patterson's refusal to call him by his newly-adopted name and for Patterson's staunch anti Black Muslim stance. Once the pair got in the ring, the heavyweights traded blows for 12 rounds before Ali ultimately held on to his champion status and bested Patterson by technical knock out.

This lot presents two striking images from this legendary bout between two former champions. Each oversized 11" x 14" print includes a cutline, and reverse notations of U.P.I. Telephoto and Daily News stamps, as well as editorial notations.

NM-MT condition. 00251
