Had the Green Bay Packers dynasty come to a premature end? That is the question Packer Backers asked themselves as the team embarked on the 1965 season.
Vince Lombardi and his troops turned the football work upside down when they dispatched Cleveland in the 1965 title game (Jim Brown's final contest).
Of course the team would go on to win Super Bowls I & II. From the 1965 season is this team-signed football. "GREEN BAY PACKERS" and "Pete Rozelle" are branded on one side. The tan surface is consumed with autographs of that remarkable squad in black ink. We estimate average signature is "7" in quality. Approximately 45 players signed the offered pigskin.
Those who signed include: Vince Lombardi, Norb Hecker, Phil Bengston, Hawg Hanner, Red Cochran, Tom Fears, Ray Nitschke, Ray Wietecha, Bill Long, Boyd Dowler, Zeke Bratkowski, Willie Wood, Tom Brown, Henry Jordan, Doug Hart, Lionel Aldridge, Steve Wright, Tom Moore, Forrest Gregg, Ron Kostelnik, Paul Hornung, Elijah Pitts, Jerry Kramer, Lee Roy Caffey, Bill Anderson, Bill Curry, Dave Robinson, Bill Curry, Herb Adderley, Willie Davis, Hank Gremminger, Max McGee, Fuzzy Thurston, Carroll Dale, Bob Jeter, Bart Starr, Jim Taylor, Allen Brown, Dan Grimm and a few more.
