Bob Friend has one distinction in baseball history above all others - he had the lowest ERA one season while pitching for a last place team.

From Friend's career in Pittsburgh is this size "7 1/4" game worn cap. Light use is shown and "19" appears on the underside of the brim in vintage black marker.

According to our consignor, this originates from former Pirates pitcher Joe Gibbon and was purchased directly from him. Gibbon and Friend were teammates.
