1956 University of Illinois Program Collection Lot of 13 Ray Nitschke Sophomore Season First Season Playing Green Bay Packers Legend

For many years, college freshman were required to sit out before playing football as a sophomore. This changed in 1972. Presented for bidder consideration are 13 programs from Ray Nitschke's first varsity eligible season - 1955. The sophomore is listed as a fullback in these publications. Included are:

1 - (3) Illinois vs. Iowa State (Oct. 1, 1955). These are EX.

2 - (2) Illinois vs. Michigan (Nov. 5, 1955). One is EX/MT and the other in a reduced state with paper loss on the right corner.

3 - Illinois vs. California (Sept. 24, 1955). EX/MT.

4 - (3) Illinois vs. Ohio State (Oct. 8, 1955). EX. One has the score written.

5 - Illinois vs. Wisconsin (Nov. 12, 1955). EX with a photo of Menominee Maroon legendary coach Ken Hofer on inside.

6 - (2) Illinois vs. Minnesota (Oct. 15, 1955). One has moderate creasing and some paper loss (VG) while the other is EX.

7 - Illinois vs. Northwestern (Nov. 19, 1955). This is EX.

8 - Illinois vs. Purdue (Oct. 29, 1955). VG with moderate wear on the upper right corner.
