Offered is a New York Yankees home jersey which was donned by hurler Johnny Kucks during his rookie campaign with the club in 1955. Spalding manufacturer's tag sewn in the collar of the jersey along with a size 44 flag tag while "Kucks 55-53" is stitched on the tail of the jersey. Inside of tail features laundry instructions with a number "2" written in black marker and a set 1 1955 flag tag. All of this is consistent with on-hand 1955 New York Yankees home exemplars.
The Yankees' interlocking NY crest is sewn to the left chest in navy felt, while number 20 is sewn to the reverse in the same manner indicating that the jersey was likely carried over for extended organizational use as Kucks wore #53 for the entirety of his Yankees career. Heavy use shown. (60N0306)
