Offered is a 3" x 5" index card which has been signed by Boston Red Sox first sacker Harry Agannis. A standout athlete, Agannis was the starting quarterback for the Boston University football team before choosing to pursue a career in baseball. Unfortunately, that career was cut short when Agannis was hospitalized with chest pains on May 16, 1955; dying six weeks later from what doctors classified as a massive pulmonary embolism. Reverse of card features a two cent Ben Franklin stamp postmarked Jul 2 1954 in Harry's hometown of Lynn, Mass. along with the address of the original recipient in Lomira, WI. (60N0087)
